The Advanced Diploma in Science
cum BS Degree (Business Information Systems) course aims to provide
more in-depth knowledge with the exposure to methodologies, theories,
tools and techniques and practical skills in the field of computing
and business related applications. Students will learn VB.Net, ASP.Net,
Linux, UML (Rational XDE), Oracle, XML, decision support systems,
information systems strategy, legal issues for e-commerce and management
of change. In addition, the Novell Certified Linux Professional
(NCLP) curriculum is
incorporated into this course. Students will be attached to established
organisations for 6 months of industrial training which will enable
them to gain valuable industrial experience. The organisations involved
in providing training include software houses, banks, insurance
companies and so on. |

The Advanced Diploma in Science
(Business Information Systems) is recognised as suitable for progression
to a Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) or Liverpool John Moores
University (JMU), UK degree with prior credit. Advanced Diploma graduates of this programme can obtain the BSc (Hons) Information Technology or BSc (Hons) Information Technology (Computer Systems & Networks or Software Engineering) Degree from SHU or BSc (Hons) Computing and Information Systems Degree from JMU by completing the final semester of the programme at the respective university. |
