This course provides opportunities for SPM school leavers who are interested or are inclined towards vocational education in IT. The units are designed to provide the students with a skill-based education and training in IT. Graduates from the course will have the basic computer skills to meet the demand of local employment markets. Graduates would also have the potential to become junior technicians in the IT field. Alternatively, they may also continue their studies at a higher level.

Graduates of the Certificate in Information Technology may be promoted to the Certificate in Computer Studies or the Certificate in Internet Technology at TAR College.

Certificate in Information Technology graduates may find employment in technical support areas such as end-user support, help desk support, assistant administration officers, administration assistants, data entry assistants and computer laboratory assistants etc.
