The standard of the Diploma in
Science
(Computer Science and Statistics) is equivalent
to the 1st year of a relevant Bachelor Degree.
Graduates can further their studies to: |

Advanced Diploma in Science cum
BS Degree (Junior & Senior Years) (Computer Science and Statistics)
at TAR College. |
| b) |
Relevant Bachelor (Honours) Degree
courses at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman
(UTAR) or other universities on advanced
standing/credit transfer. |

| Diploma graduates may find employment in a
wide area of industries such as software houses, computer vendors,
banking and finance, insurance and market research companies. Graduates
may work as programmers, end-user support staff, analysts/programmers,
IT administrators or executives, systems officers, database administrators,
web designers, quality control officers, market research executives
and other related jobs. |

(Computer Science and Statistics) - Admission on advanced standing
to Semester 4 |
| |
Students with the following qualifications
will be accorded credit transfer/advanced standing to enable them
to complete the Diploma in 1 year. |

Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia
(STPM) / A Levels with 2 Principal passes which must include Mathematics
T / Mathematics A and 1 Principal pass in the subjects listed below: |

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further
Mathematics T, Ekonomi, Perakaunan, Computing, Pengajian Perniagaan |

Plus |
| |
|
| |
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) as follows:- |

(i) |
3 credits which must include Mathematics |
| |
(ii) |
Pass in English Language |
| |

| |
A principal or subsidiary
pass at STPM level is acceptable in lieu of a credit pass for the
corresponding SPM subject. |
| |

| |
Applicants who only have a
pass in SPM Bahasa Malaysia will be required to obtain a credit
in SPM Bahasa Malaysia or equivalent before the award of Diploma. |
| |
|
| |
A pass in the English Language
(1119 Level) course conducted by the Extra-Mural Studies Department
(EMSD) is
recognised as satisfying the English Language requirement for admission
to the Diploma course. |
