    Deloitte Tax Challenge 2008 was a competition among undergraduates of universities  and colleges in  Malaysia. It was the first organized by Deloitte KassimChan Tax Services Sdn Bhd with the aims of presenting tax as a career option for future graduates and to enhance their leadership skills, and to promote presentation and English skills in a simulated business environment.
     
    Lim Wei Chih from Tunku Abdul Rahman College emerged as the champion for the Deloitte Tax Challenge 2008 under the individual category in the final held on 14-10-2008 at Deloitte’s office located at Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya. He also won the Most Creative Presentation Award with his most impressive and creative presentation. Congratulations!

       1ST RUNNERS UP IN THE CITIBANK-UM INTERVARSITY CASE STUDY CHALLENGE    2008

    A TARC College team who called themselves ‘Make a Difference (M.A.D.)’ emerged as the 1st Runners Up of the Citibank-UM Intervasity Case Study Challenge 2008. M.A.D. comprised of 4 members who are Tan Chun Eng (Team Leader from 2ABM), Mok Chee Wai (2AMK), Quah Jun Loong (2AFA) and Chin Sok Kuan (2AMK).
     
    This is third year in a row that TAR College has made its mark in this competition. The  TAR  College  team  received  a  trophy, a  certificate   each  and  cash  prize   of
    RM1, 000.

       WE ARE WINNERS…THREE TIMES IN A ROW

    TAR College made it to the finals once again in this year’s Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Investment Quiz competition. Held on 25th and 26th August 2008, three of our final year Advanced Diploma in Business Studies (Finance & Investment) students made us very proud by emerging as second runner-up after putting up a stiff competition against 57 other teams from 22 public and private institutions of higher learning.

       CIMA MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING BUSINESS CHALLENGE 2008
       23 August 2008
     
    A total of 24 teams took part in the CIMA Management Accounting Business Challenge 2008. The finals were held at the UEM Academy, Petaling Jaya on 23 August 2008. Out of the 4 teams that entered the finals, two were from TAR College (Team Unify and Team Phoenix). The other two finalists were from Monash University and UTAR.
     
    At the end of a very keen contest, the team from Monash University was adjudicated the winner while Team Unify from TAR College emerged as the 1st runner-up. Both the teams from TAR College put up a very spirited challenge and they were well supported by the Head of SBS, the Head of Accounting Division, Programme Supervisors, lecturers and fellow students attained by TAR College students and staff.

       MIMS-MIM MANAGEMENT GAME
       INTER-COLLEGE CHALLENGE TROPHY
       23 to 25 May 2008
     
    Eight students from the School of Business Studies (SBS) participated in the MIMS-MIM MANAGEMENT GAME (Inter-College Challenge Trophy) organised by the Malaysian Institute of Management from 23 to 25 May, 2008. A total of ten teams participated in this competition. One team was sent by Metropolitan College, seven teams from Inti University College and two teams from TAR College.
     
    The two teams from TAR College emerged as Champion and First Runner-up in the competition. Congratulations to all the participants!
