Electronic Engineering

This Advanced Diploma course aims to produce professional electronic engineers with a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of electricity, circuit theory, instrumentation, electronic systems, computer systems, communication systems, engineering applications and industrial management. Students are trained to be specialists in electronics, telecommunications, automatic control and computer systems. The course is also designed to educate students to meet the challenges of the ever increasing possibilities created by developments in electronics, automatic control, communications and computers. Students will also acquire knowledge in management so as to be more competent in the industrial or business environment.
 
   Academic and Professional Progression
   
The Advanced Diploma in Technology (Electronic Engineering) is equivalent to a Bachelor Degree.
a)
Advanced Diploma graduates have been accepted into postgraduate studies in many universities.
b)
The Advanced Diploma in Technology (Electronic Engineering) is recognised as suitable for progression to a Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) or Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), UK degree with prior credit. Advanced Diploma graduates of this programme can obtain the BEng (Hons) Electronic Systems Engineering Degree from SHU or BEng (Hons) Electronics & Control Systems Engineering Degree from JMU or BEng (Hons) Microelectronics Engineering Degree from JMU by completing the final semester of the programme at the respective university.

The career openings for graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Technology (Electronic Engineering) are wide and varied and they are in constant demand by a wide variety of employers. Manufacturing industries need electronic engineering graduates in development, design, testing, production, marketing and sales. Other industries also employ electronic engineering graduates for specifying, testing, maintaining and using the huge variety of electrical and electronic systems required for power, communications, computing, measurement and control.
