Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Mechatronics Engineering)

The objectives of this programme is to build up on the fundamentals of Mechatronics engineering from the Diploma in Technology (Mechatronics) to enable the students to develop greater understanding and skill in Mechatronics engineering to enable them to define the mechanical operating set-up and designing the complementary electronic controls for the system concerned. Students are equipped with the core mechatronics engineering knowledge and the related electives majoring in either mechanical engineering or electronics engineering to function effectively as a mechatronics engineer.

   Academic and Professional Progression

The Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Mechatronics Engineering) is equivalent to a Bachelor Degree.
Graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Engineering (Mechatronics Engineering) should be able to advance to postgraduate studies in the relevant field.

   Professional Accreditation / Exemption

Please refer to the 'Professional Accreditation / Exemption'.

   Career Prospects

Mechatronics graduates have excellent career prospects with manufacturing and automation organisations either in systems design or as operations and maintenance engineers. Their dual specialisation will enable them to function effectively in both the operating aspects or control aspects of the automated systems in use in so many state of art and modern manufacturing organisations. They play an essential role in maintaining the high quality as well as the availability of the manufacturing systems.

   Minimum Entry Requirements

Diploma in Technology (Mechatronics) from TAR College or other equivalent qualifications.
