Materials and Manufacturing Engineering
This Certificate course aims to produce trained technicians with a practical knowledge in materials and manufacturing engineering to meet the requirements of the local metal and plastic industry. The course is so designed that students are equipped with a good grounding in manufacturing engineering sciences and skills in AutoCAD and workshop practices.
Graduates of this course would have acquired sufficient foundation studies to pursue higher qualification in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering.

Career prospects are good for graduates of the Certificate in Technology (Materials and Manufacturing Engineering) as they can find employment in a wide range of manufacturing and service industries or firms such as those concerned with iron and steel products, processing and fabrication of metals, ceramics, plastics, rubber composites and glass, in machinery or other heavy industries and also in the electrical, electronic, chemical and petroleum industries. They may be employed as quality control technicians or service and maintenance technicians.

| Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) as follows:- | |
| (i) | 3 credits in any technical/science/arts subjects |
| (ii) | Pass in Bahasa Malaysia, English Language and Mathematics |
| Students must have taken Additional Mathematics and Physics. | |
A pass in the English Language
(1119 Level) course conducted by
the Extra-Mural Studies
Department (EMSD) is recognised
as satisfying the English Language
requirement for admission to the
Certificate course. |
