As Malaysia heads toward becoming a developed nation, there will be greater emphasis and commitment to expanding and improving tourism products, such as medium-budget accommodations, hotels, restaurants, resorts, theme parks and leisure centres. Asian holiday makers, business travellers, overseas tourists, local weekend travellers all travel away from home, thus, creating a demand for hospitality. Such a fast growing sector needs dynamic graduates with flair, business and technical knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills. Therefore the aim of this course is to provide students with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the development and, industrial awareness of Malaysia's hospitality trade so that they can become effective managers of this growing industry. Besides this, the course also provides a high level of management understanding, industrial awareness and operational competence, equipping students for a career in hotel management.
 
    Academic and Professional Progression
 
The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (Hotel Management) is equivalent to a Bachelor Degree.
 
The Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (Hotel Management) is recognised as suitable for progression to a Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), UK degree with prior credit. Advanced Diploma graduates of this programme can obtain the BA (Hons) in Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism Degree from JMU by completing the final semester (three months) of the programme at the university.
