Alumni

As much as you would like to keep in touch with your college mates after graduation, the College would like to retain a lifelong relationship with you too. Tunku Abdul Rahman College cherishes its alumni with the same dedication that the College gives to its students.

Every star in the galaxy started insignificantly as a collapsing cloud of material composed primarily of hydrogen, helium and other trace elements before growing to become a luminous supernova. Similarly, every one of you is a promising star, unique. Since the first day you stepped into the College until the day you graduate, the College is your alma mater that has continuously nurtured you with the right set of knowledge and skills to face the challenges of the outside world. With such an immense commitment, the College is convinced that you will gain immeasurable success in your future, just like the brightly lit stars millions of light years away. With the hope that your graduation is just the beginning of another wonderful lifelong relationship between you and your alma mater, the College Alumni Affairs Office was established to act as a channel for the alumni to keep in touch with the College. Besides playing the role of maintaining a good relationship between the alumni and the College, the Alumni Affairs Office also constantly updates and enlarges its database with more graduates every year.

The College now has close to 140,000 alumni who are playing significant roles in their respective professions all over the world. It is heartening to know that the TARCian spirit of giving and sharing is very much alive and active in their hearts. In showing support for their alma mater, generous and meaningful contributions in the form of scholarships and loans are offered to needy and deserving students. Additionally, assistance is also given through on-the-job trainings to students for them to gain valuable hands-on experience during their practical and to provide employment opportunities for them when they graduate. The alumni also frequently take time and effort to return to the College to conduct workshops and career guidance talks for students in order to help pave their way to a brighter future.

With the setting up of the Alumni Affairs Office, homecomings have become an event that everyone looks forward to. Gatherings organised in the College not only serve as a platform for the alumni to get the latest information on the development of the College, but also to strengthen their bond with their beloved alma mater, to relive the fond memories of yesteryears and to rekindle their long lost fellowship with other alumni as well. As you walk through the doors after your graduation, you serve as a goodwill ambassador of the College to the world. Do make the College proud! At the same time, do not forget the College after graduation, as your alma mater would like to keep the network strong by informing you of its latest developments.
