The Penang Branch Campus first began operation on 15 July 1994 on temporary premises at Transfer Road. On 28 June 1999, the permanent campus that is nestled amidst the lush and scenic greenery in the prime greenbelt of Tanjong Bungah was officially opened by the then Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi. This impressive campus is approximately a 20-minute drive from Georgetown, Penang’s capital city.

The Penang Branch Campus is deemed to have the best landscaping among the institutions of higher learning in Penang, having won the Penang State Landscaping Contest for two consecutive years.
