TAR University College hosts Kuala Lumpur Volleyball Carnival 2015

The rays of dawn shone across the futsal courts of TAR University College where the first Kuala Lumpur Volleyball Carnival 2015 was held on 22 November 2015. The carnival was organised by Kuala Lumpur Volleyball Association (‘KLAVA’) with TAR University College (TAR UC), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Young Malaysians Movement Wilayah Persekutuan (YMMWP) as co-organisers.

A showcase of trending technology at Wi-Me 2015

The Computer Science Society of TAR University College successfully organised an enlightening yet exciting event named as Wi-Me 2015 which encompassed a series of talks on Internet of Things (‘IoT’) as well as the latest innovation in the ICT industry and an exhibition that came with a mini PC fair from 28 – 29 October 2015. Held at the University College Main Hall at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus, this event also received the support from the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Computing and The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM).

Education excellence radiates at Campbell University Convocation

It was a day filled with joyful anticipation, pride and a sense of accomplishment as the 35th Convocation of Campbell University was held on 17 October 2015 at TAR University College Main Hall at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus. The convocation was graced with the presence of distinguished guests namely Dr Mark Hammond, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, Campbell University, Dr Michael Wells, Dean, College of Arts, Campbell University and Dr William Byers, External Examiner for Bachelor of Science (Analytical Chemistry), University of Ulster.

Ingenious idea wins students the championship

With the idea to upcycle an old oil barrel which everyone else sees as trash into something functional, 4 creative and determined Diploma in Architecture students created the ‘The Barrel Fusion’. Their invention beat 10 other finalists to win the Anugerah Hijau 2015 Competition for the Green Innovation category in the award ceremony held on 17 October. This annually held competition is organised by EcoKnights, an environmental organisation which promotes sustainable development in Malaysia.

TAR University College Students Win with Ingenuity

19 students who are pursuing their second year of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (Hons) won third place in the Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia ('PAM')'s Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2015 which was held from 7 - 11 October 2015 at one of the popular shopping malls in Klang Valley. Their winning creation, dubbed as the 'FabriCave' which beat more than 10 other display booths, is an actual walk-through cave made with cardboards and thick plywood as the platform. This is to coincide with the competition's theme for this year which is FAB:Nation where FAB stands for fabrication and the meaning of the combined 'Fabrication Nation' simply means manufacturing materials.
