Rules and Regulations
 
The Librarian is empowered to withhold library privileges from users who do not comply with any of the following library rules and regulations.
 
1. Personal Belongings
   
1.1.
All library users are not allowed to bring in bags, files, umbrellas, etc. into the library, except handbags and transparent A4 size document cases that are not more than five (5) cm in thickness.
   
1.2.
The Library Management is not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings at the library baggage area and in the library/reading rooms as well.
   
2. TAR College ID Cards
   
2.1.
 
Only users with valid ID cards are allowed to enter the library.
   
2.2.
  Users must use their own ID cards to borrow library materials.
   
2.3.
 
In the event that a library user loses his/her ID card, he/she is required to inform the library staff at the Information Counter immediately to block his/her library account.
   
3. Discipline and Conduct
   
3.1.
  Library users should be appropriately attired.
   
3.2.
  Smoking and the consumption of food and drinks (except water) in the library are not permitted.
   
3.3.
  Silence must be strictly observed in the library.
   
3.4.
 
The use of handphones in the library is strictly prohibited. All handphones must be switched off or set to silent mode while in the library.
   
3.5.
  Reservation of library seats is not permitted.
   
3.6.
 
Users are not allowed to remove or change the placement of furniture (chairs, study tables, etc.) or equipment in the library.
   
3.7.
 
Stern action shall be taken against any users who steal or vandalize library materials.
   
3.8.
 
Disciplinary action shall be taken against users who misbehave or make noise in the library/reading rooms. The Library Management has the right to request such users to leave the place immediately.
   
4. Photocopying
   
4.1.
 
Users who photocopy library materials will be deemed personally responsible for any infringement under the Copyright Act 1987.
