Provisional Accreditation, Programme Approval, Full Accreditation and JPA Recognition
A programme will receive the Provisional Accreditation status which is issued by Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA) if it meets the minimum requirements/standards set by MQA. All programmes offered by Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) have received the Provisional Accreditation from MQA.
Approval to Conduct Programme by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)
All programmes offered by TAR UC must also be approved by MOHE. When a programme has received the approval from MOHE to conduct, TAR UC then can commence the enrolment of students for the programme.
All TAR UC programmes will undergo the Full Accreditation inspection by MQA when the 1st cohort of students enters the final semester of study. MQA will send a team of assessors to TAR UC to accredit the programme. A programme that receives a Full Accreditation status means it has met all the requirements/standards set by MQA.
By default, a programme that has received Full Accreditation will be listed in the Malaysia Qualifications Register (MQR).
Programme that has received Full Accreditation and listed in the MQR is recognised by MOHE and JPA (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam).
JPA recognition is needed for graduates to be eligible for employment in all the government departments and statutory bodies. A search can be done at JPA’s website at http://www.interactive.jpa.gov.my/webinteraktif/frmMainIktiraf.asp to check whether a programme is recognised by JPA.
