Solid team effort were rewarded as TAR UC’s Faculty of Applied Sciences (‘FOAS’) was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification, which was presented by Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC, to Assoc Prof Dr Loke Chui Fung, Dean of FOAS, on 23 February 2018.

With the ISO 9001:2015 certification verified by SIRIM, it means that FOAS is now certified with the scope of certification on “Provision of Education Services to Diploma and Bachelor Degree” that is valid for 3 years.

Datuk Dr Tan was elated with the new certification, and congratulated FOAS and all relevant departments for the great team effort in successfully implementing the Quality Management System in compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standards which has resulted in FOAS obtaining the ISO certification.

Previously, TAR UC was certified under ISO 9001:2008 on “Provision of Library and Examination Services”. The upgrade to ISO 9001:2015 certification requires TAR UC to expand the scope of certification to the core business. Hence, the ISO certification will be expanded to another four faculties, namely Faculty of Social Science, Arts & Humanities (‘FSAH’), Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (‘FOCS’), Faculty of Built Environment (‘FOBE’), and Faculty of Engineering (‘FOEN’) in 2018.

Moving forward, TAR UC is expected to expand the ISO certification to its five branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Johor, Sabah, and Pahang to strengthen the quality of TAR UC’s education.
