TARUC’s Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business sets a new record once again with three students achieving top-notch results in the recent ACCA March 2017 examinations. New additions to TAR UC’s consistent and stellar track record in producing top ACCA high scorers are Huang Chun Hui, Chin Jien Hua and Toh Shaw Jiun, all graduates in Bachelor of Commerce (Hons). This is the first time TAR UC has three students who emerged Top in Malaysia in three different papers in the same examination sitting and also all ranked among the top ten in the world.
First off, Huang Chun Hui is ranked Top in Malaysia and Fourth in the World for paper P2 Corporate Reporting. Aspiring to work his way up at a renowned multinational company in the future, he hopes to gain in-depth experience over the next few years in the field of auditing and accounting. Chun Hui stated that this achievement has boosted his self-confidence and passion to succeed in field of accounting. “Self-discipline is important whilst preparing for the examination. I used to do last minute studying and it was difficult to absorb everything. By planning a study schedule for myself and doing my revision consistently during my break time between classes in the library, I was able to comprehend the concepts rather than wasting time on memorising them,” he added.
For Chin Jien Hua who is ranked Top in Malaysia and Seventh in the World for paper P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics, this is certainly his greatest unexpected achievement. He attributes his success to three factors namely focus, familial support and most remarkably - failure from past mistakes which motivated him to practise more and learn from them.
Jien Hua hopes to be able to contribute back to TAR UC. “This institution is the place where I got to meet friends from all walks of life who are striving towards the same goal that is to pass their ACCA papers. I want to share my knowledge and experience to students in preparation for their professional papers in the future,” he remarked.
Another top scorer is Toh Shaw Jiun who is ranked Top in Malaysia and Tenth in the World for paper P3 Business Analysis. Recognising the importance of proper time management when preparing for the exam, Shaw Juin confessed that he had to sacrifice his leisure time and make adjustments to his lifestyle months in advance to juggle his preparation for both his university examinations and ACCA papers.
“Nothing in life is impossible if I put my mind to it! This achievement is a testament to that and there is still much more in life to accomplish,” said the ambitious young man. “Don’t ever give up. If you are thinking of giving up, remember why you started in the beginning,” he added.
Apart from commending the excellent academic teaching that they received, the three high achievers also praise TAR UC’s superb facilities and infrastructure that provided them the conducive environment for learning.
