From 2 May to 9 September 2025

Under the Staff Exchange Programme, two lecturers from the Department of Physical Education, Chengdu Normal University (CDNU) visited TAR UMT in 2025. The first visit took place from 2 to 30 May, followed by the second from 12 August to 9 September. During both exchanges, the visiting lecturers participated in joint research discussions, met with faculty members and the management team, and engaged in dialogues with the faculty. They also delivered guest lectures, seminars, and talks, which further strengthened academic exchange, research collaboration, and engagement between the two institutions

7 July 2025

On 7 July 2025, TAR UMT hosted a visiting scholar from Chengdu Normal University and arranged a visit to the Kachin Refugee Learning Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The visit aimed to introduce him to one of the key project sites where Master of Counselling students were actively engaged in promoting psychological well-being among school-aged refugee children through school counselling services.

From 7 June to 13 June 2025

From 7 to 13 June 2025, TAR UMT organised a 7-day, 5-night study tour to Chengdu Normal University for 38 students and 4 staff members. The programme featured cultural exchanges, hands-on workshops, and visits to key landmarks including the Sanxingdui Museum, the UNESCO-listed Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Panda Valley, Kuan Zhai Alley, and the Taikoo Li district, offering participants a rich blend of cultural heritage and modern experiences.

18 March 2025

The Staff Exchange Agreement between TAR UMT and CDNU was signed on 18 March 2025. This Agreement was signed to develop mutual cooperation, promote academic exchange as well as the exchange faculty program.

From 5 March to 1 May 2025

TAR UMT welcomed two groups of scholars from Chengdu Normal University. The first group visited from 5 March to 2 April 2025, while the second group arrived on 3 April and stayed until 1 May 2025. These visits align with TAR UMT’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and enhancing its global reputation. They created valuable opportunities for academic exchange, collaboration, and mutual learning.

11 February 2025 to 22 June 2025

Under the Student Exchange Programme, 25 students from CDNU were attending the Sports & Exercise Science Programme at TAR UMT from 11 February to 22 June 2025 as part of their academic exchange. They were enrolled in TAR UMT’s February 2025 curriculum, taking 12 credit hours of subjects to be transferred back to their bachelor's degree programme.

10 February to 16 May 2025

As part of the Student Exchange Programme, 6 students from Chengdu Normal University joined the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) at TAR UMT for one semester from 10 February to 16 May 2025. Of these, 5 students were enrolled in the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) programme, while 1 student was enrolled in the Bachelor of English Studies with Education programme, attending classes alongside local students as part of their academic exchange experience.

From 4 February to 4 March 2025

A staff member from CDNU visited TAR UMT as a visiting scholar. The staff member was a Teaching Assistant at the Student Affairs Office of CDNU and was hosted at TAR UMT from 4 February to 4 March 2025.

2024

25 November 2024 and 26 November 2024

On 25 and 26 November 2024, senior officials from Chengdu Normal University (CDNU) visited TAR UMT to strengthen the TAR UMT-CDNU 2+2 Collaborative Dual Award Programme and explore new collaboration opportunities. Discussions covered quality assurance, promotional activities, and academic program collaboration.

The delegation also visited the Department of Education and the Department of Social Science and toured the Early Childhood Education Simulation Room to learn about the tools used in ECE programmes. This visit reflects the strong partnership and commitment to academic excellence between the two institutions.

From 10 June 2024  to 15 June 2024

From 10 June 2024  to 15 June 2024, TAR UMT officials visited CDNU to focus on the quality assurance and promotional activities for the TAR UMT-CDNU 2+2 Collaborative Dual Award Programme. The visit included a quality assurance meeting with CDNU teaching teams, a promotional talk to CDNU students, a Train-The-Trainer session, and other related activities aimed at enhancing the program's standards and visibility.

Representatives from CDNU visited the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance, and Business at TAR UMT on 5 December 2023, to explore opportunities for student exchange, staff exchange, collaboration on research/scholarly activities, academic program collaboration, and more.

TAR UMT visited CDNU in September 2019 to promote the "2+2" Accounting Dual Bachelor Degree Award Collaborative Programme in order to recruit more students to study in Malaysia.

The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and CDNU was signed on 30 November 2018 at CDNU. This MOU was signed to collaborate on "2+2" Accounting Dual Bachelor Degree Award Collaborative Programme.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by TAR UMT and CDNU on 19 October 2017. The Memorandum of Understanding is to enable both Universities to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in both Malaysia and China.
