From 13 June to 15 June 2022

An online seminar collaborated between TAR UMT and Sherubtse College, RUB titled "Research from Local to Global: Towards Science in Society" was conducted between 13 June and 15 June 2022.

The 3-days program consisted of 12 students representing each institution of higher learning (TAR UMT,Republic Polytechnic in Singapore & Tianjin University of Sport in China) on the theme of “Major Games Preparation”. The 3-days program consisted of a Facilities and Campus Tour of each institution along student-led activities and cultural sharing. In each day, there was a staff sharing session by each institution that was centered around the theme of Major Games Preparation.

Associate Professor Dr Kok Lian Yee from the Department of Sport Science (FOAS) shared her experience and knowledge on “Examining the Coach Development Pathway for Malaysian Coaches”. Associate Professor Dr Kok pointed out the education process of a Malaysian coach and the importance of matching coaching levels with athletes’ levels of development.

1 April 2022

Six sessions of 30-min lectures (three sessions by Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan and another three sessions by TAR UMT) had been organized and joined by bioscience and chemistry  program students from both institutions.

The speakers from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan were Dr Tenzin Wangchuk, Tshewang Dendup and Sonam Tobgay and the speakers from TAR UMT were Associate Professor Dr Loh Khye Er, Dr Tang Pei Ling and Dr Tan Siew San.

The Letter of Intention (LOI) between TAR UMT and RUB was signed on 25 October 2021. The LOI was signed to promote international academic cooperation and the exchange of teaching and research experiences.

16 October 2021

A guest lecture by TAR UMT, titled “Real Exchange Rate Misalignment and Economic Growth in Malaysia” has been held for the students from RUB on 16 September 2021.
