On 19 May 2025, senior officials from TAR UMT visited the Pingtan Institute of Xiamen University to further strengthen the collaborative relationship established between the two institutions. On 23 April 2025, TAR UMT welcomed a delegation of senior officials from the Pingtan Institute of Xiamen University. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in November 2023. The Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Education between TAR UMT and Pingtan Institute of Xiamen University was signed on 2 November 2023.  TAR UMT and Pingtan Institute of Xiamen University were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.
