From 11 January to 17 January 2026

GFVC hosted TAR UMT students for a 7-day E-Marketing Study Tour from 11 January to 17 January 2026. The study tour, undertaken by students from the Diploma and Bachelor of Marketing programmes, enhanced internationalisation, intercultural competence, and experiential learning through structured activities and practical exposure to e-commerce, live-streaming marketing, and cross-cultural business practices.

 

2025

19 May 2025

On 19 May 2025, senior officials from TAR UMT GFVC further strengthened the collaborative relationship between the two institutions. During the visit, both parties engaged in constructive discussions on expanding cooperation in areas such as education, training, and cultural exchange. The TAR UMT delegation also toured GFVC’s facilities, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering mutual growth and advancing vocational education through continuous collaboration.

22 July 2024

On 22 July 2024, TAR UMT officials visited Guangxi Vocational College (GFVC), strengthening the collaboration between the two institutions. The visit included discussions on expanding cooperative initiatives and a tour of GFVC's advanced facilities. This visit emphasized the commitment to mutual growth and development through shared expertise and collaborative efforts.

 

From 16 June 2024 to 22 June 2024

TAR UMT, in collaboration with GFVC, organized the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital Economy 'Chinese + Vocational Skills' E-Commerce Live Marketing, Graphics, and Image Processing Training Camp from 16 June 2024 to 22 June 2024. Held at GFVC, the training camp focused on enhancing skills in e-commerce live marketing, graphics, and image processing, aimed at fostering expertise and innovation in the digital economy.

 

27 May 2024

On 27 May 2024, Officials from GFVC visited TAR UMT once again, highlighting the continued collaboration between both institutions. This visit reflects the ongoing commitment to fostering mutual growth and development.

 

25 April 2024

Representatives from GFVC and the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Digital Economy Modern Craftsman Institute's China-Malaysia First Phase Construction Project Data Intelligence Center, held on 25 April 2024. They also visited the inaugural class of students undergoing training in "Chinese + Vocational skills" TikTok Comprehensive Marketing Advanced Training Camp at TAR UMT.

 

6 March 2024

The visit of GFVC to TAR UMT on 6 March 2024, marked a significant moment of collaboration, culminating in the unveiling of the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Digital Economy plaque. This partnership promises to enhance knowledge exchange, skill development, and research opportunities, fostering economic growth and international collaboration between China and Malaysia in the digital economy sector.

 

2023

14 September 2023

TAR UMT has been invited by Guangxi Financial Vocational College to participate in the 2023 China-ASEAN Conference on Vocational Education Cooperation and Development, held on 14 September 2023 in Nanning, Guangxi.

TAR UMT and GFVC jointly established the China-Malaysia Institute of Modern Craftmanship. A plaque was presented to TAR UMT during the Conference.

 

5 June 2023

The Chairman of Board of Governors, member of the Board and Senior Officials of TAR UMT visited GFVC on 5 June 2023 to explore potential collaboration in scientific research, joint-training/ joint activities for students, staff exchange and student exchange . During the visitation, both Universities had also gained an insight into future trends in education, research and innovation in China and how the universities collaborate with the industry and contribute to the wider community.

TAR UMT and GFVC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enable both institutions to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in Malaysia and China.
