A Doctor of Philosophy (Food Science) student from TAR UMT participated in a research attachment at the Guangxi Key Laboratory, Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine, Nanning, China. The research focused on the “Efficacy Study on Chinese Materia Medica.” The attachment was conducted from 9 June 2025 to 8 November 2025, with a total duration of five months.

20 December 2024

A delegation from Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine visited the Perak Branch of TAR UMT on 20 December 2024 to explore potential collaboration opportunities and strengthen academic ties between the two institutions.

From 18 September 2024 to 26 January 2025

TAR UMT facilitated visa arrangements and a one-semester Research Attachment Programme for students from GXUCM. These students served as research interns at TAR UMT, collaborating on a joint research project between TAR UMT and GXUCM. This reciprocal arrangement allowed TAR UMT students to spend a semester at GXUCM from March to June 2025.

22 March 2024

On 22 March 2024, an Agreement on the Joint Laboratory for Medicine Food Homology Research was signed between GXUCM and TAR UMT. Both parties have agreed to collaborate in establishing a Joint Laboratory for Medicine Food Homology Research.

14 November 2023

The Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Education between TAR UMT and GXUCM was signed on 14 November 2023 to enable both institutions to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in Malaysia and China.
