From 24 August to 11 September 2025

Two students from Sapporo Gakuin University, majoring in English and Child Development Management, participated in the Global Summer Internship 2025 conducted at TAR UMT from 24 August to 11 September 2025.

The programme was designed to provide students with an environment to enhance their English proficiency and gain practical learning experiences. Participants also had the opportunity to explore Penang’s iconic UNESCO World Heritage sites and learn about Malaysian culture.

18 April 2024

The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and Sapporo Gakuin University was signed on 18 April 2024.  TAR UMT and Sapporo Gakuin University were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.

An inbound study tour was held between 5 August 2018 and 26 August 2018. Two students from Sapporo Gakuin University were sent to Penang Branch Campus.

16 March 2017

An agreement was signed between TAR UMT and Sapporo Gakuin University on 16 March 2017. This agreement was signed to encourage academic and education cooperation through research and study towards the activities below: general education activities exchange; students and faculty members exchange; organization of meetings and joint seminars; exchange of information, documents and academic materials; short-term programs for students; and other academic collaboration as mutually agreed to by both universities.
