On 26 December 2025, TAR UMT staff participated as a speaker in the GASA 2025 Annual Meeting & Cooperation Forum, held online by GZSU.

The forum, themed “Sport as the Bridge, Win-Win for Guangdong and ASEAN,” brought together academics, researchers, and practitioners to explore opportunities for regional collaboration in sports development. TAR UMT shared insights on initiatives that use sports as a platform for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and mutual growth between Guangdong and ASEAN countries.

Senior Officials of GZSU visited TAR UMT on 19 June 2024 to further explore potential collaboration opportunities.

During the visitation, TAR UMT and GZSU signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Education. Both institutions were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.
