30 October 2025 Senior officials from TAR UMT visited FPTU on 30 October 2025 to further strengthen the collaboration between both institutions. The visit continued the partnership established through the MOU and MOA signed in 2023 and included discussions on student mobility programmes, academic exchanges, and future collaborative initiatives that aimed to enhance mutual cooperation.
From 9 June to 21 October 2025 TAR UMT Kuala Lumpur Campus had received two batches of students from FPTU to participate in the Global Connect Outbound Student Short-Term Mobility Programme in 2025. These sessions were held from:
The primary objective of this programme was to provide students with valuable international exposure and cross-cultural learning experiences. During the programme, participants engaged in cultural activities, hands-on workshops, and sightseeing visits, enabling them to broaden their global perspectives and enhance their overall learning journey.
In between 6 February 2025 to 18 June 2025 TAR UMT Penang Branch had received two batches of students from FPTU to participate in the IEPP2323 Intensive English Programme (Intermediate Level) on two separate occasions in 2025. These sessions were held from:
The primary objective of this program is to equip students with essential 21st-century communication skills. Additionally, while in Penang, participants have the unique opportunity to explore some of the region's iconic UNESCO World Heritage landmarks and gain a deeper understanding of Malaysian culture.
From 9 June to 14 June 2025 TAR UMT co-organised a six-day Outbound Student Short-Term Mobility Programme under Global Connect for its students to FPT University, Danang, Vietnam, from 9 to 14 June 2025. Throughout the programme, students engaged in cultural activities, participated in hands-on workshops, and joined sightseeing visits, gaining valuable international exposure and cross-cultural experiences.

2024 |
22 November 2024 TAR UMT organized the ACCA Business Game 2024 on 22 November 2024, providing students with the opportunity to develop their skills in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling various business functions, including production, accounting, finance, human resources, and marketing. Students from Saigon University and FPT University in Vietnam, along with TAR UMT students, participated in the game.
From 12 June 2024 to 16 June 2024 Under the student exchange programme, TAR UMT Penang Branch organized a Vietnam Study Tour outbound mobility program for 21 students, including 8 winners of the global business contest in 2023, held from 12 June to 16 June 2024. This program aimed to provide hands-on learning experiences and active engagement within a cross-cultural setting. It inspired TAR UMT students to immerse themselves in the vibrant campus life of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, fostering a deeper understanding of global perspectives. Additionally, the tour aimed to cultivate personal growth and leadership skills among participants, promoting a well-rounded and enriched educational journey.
31 May 2024 On 31 May 2024, officials from TAR UMT visited FPT University. The primary objective of the visit was to explore the English Intensive Program (Inbound Mobility Programme) offered by FPT University.
In between 27 January 2024 to 23 October 2024 TAR UMT Kuala Lumpur Campus had received five batches of students from FPTU to attend a one-month English Programme on two separate occasions in 2024. These sessions were held from: -
The program's primary goal is to equip students with essential communication skills required for the 21st century. It focuses on developing English language proficiency, introducing students to the IELTS format and test-taking strategies, and providing valuable feedback on students' language skills. This feedback helps students understand their strengths and weaknesses in the four language skills and enables them to create individual action plans for self-study. In addition to enhancing their language skills, participants get to explore Kuala Lumpur City, Malacca City, night markets, and immerse themselves in Malaysian culture.

From 12 June 2023 to 18 July 2023 TAR UMT collaborated with FPTU to organize the Global Business Contest 2023 for students from both institutions. The event took place from 12 June 2023 to 18 July 2023. This competition provided a platform for TAR UMT and FPTU students to develop business and marketing plans for companies in Malaysia and Vietnam. The plans could involve strategies for launching new products or services, expanding businesses locally or internationally.
From 23 July 2023 to 19 August 2023 A group of students from FPTU attended a one month English Programme by TAR UMT at Kuala Lumpur Campus of TAR UMT in between 23 July 2023 and 19 August 2023. This programme aims to equip students with essential communication skills needed for the 21st century. The English component develops students’ English language proficiency and familiarises them with the IELTS format and test-taking strategies. Students will receive feedback to have a better understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses in the four language skills. This helps them to devise their individual action plans for self-study to achieve their target IELTS bandings. Participants also get to explore KL City, Malacca City, night market and learn more about Malaysian culture. 11 March 2023 TAR UMT was invited by FPTU to participate in the Culture Race 2023 FPT University (FPTU) held on 11 March 2023. This virtual event is hosted by FPT Education Global, with participation of students and representatives of 15 universities, from 6 countries. It allows participants to understand the multi-culture, learn and respect the diversity as well as make global friends. The agenda of Culture Race includes e-Talent Show, Mysterious Culture, and Cultural Ambassador.

2 February 2023 The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and FPTU was signed on 2 February 2023. The Memorandum of Understanding enables both Universities to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in both countries. |
