2025 |
From 12 to 18 July 2025 A Psychology student from TAR UMT participated in the Social Innovation Camp organised by Thaksin University, Thailand, from 12 to 18 July 2025. The camp was designed to foster students’ learning and creativity through problem-based learning activities. In addition, it enhanced their understanding of international languages and cultures through immersive experiences.
7 April 2025 On 7 April 2025, TAR UMT welcomed a group of high school students from Thailand, accompanied by six (6) staff members from Thaksin University. The visit, organized by the university’s Education Department, aimed to give the students a closer look at university life and provide them with insights into higher education options and academic pathways.

2024 |
25 October 2024 TAR UMT received a request from Thaksin University for a campus visit on 25 October 2024. The visit included eight students and two lecturers and aimed to foster a meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences among students from diverse academic disciplines and cultural backgrounds. This initiative not only enhanced their global perspectives but also strengthened the academic partnership between Thaksin University and TAR UMT, paving the way for future collaborations, joint programs, and research opportunities in fields such as education, English studies, and social sciences.
11 September 2024 TAR UMT was invited by Thaksin University to co-host the International STEM Project Fair 2024, scheduled for September 11, 2024, via Zoom. This event, organized collaboratively by Thaksin University and PSU Witthayanusorn School, aims to showcase the projects, research, and innovations developed by Thai high school students. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Karthiyani a/p Shanmugam from TAR UMT, and Dr. Keong Chee Seng from TAR UMT was appointed as a judge for the fair.
From 21 August 2024 to 24 August 2024 TAR UMT students participated in the Social Innovation Camp (SIC) hosted by Thaksin University in Phatthalung Province, Thailand, from 21 August to 24 August 2024. The SIC provided an opportunity for students to enhance their learning and creativity through problem-based learning activities, while also promoting the acquisition of international languages and cultural understanding. This initiative further strengthened the relationship between the two institutions.
6 August 2024 TAR UMT co-hosted the 9th International Conference on Education and Social Science (ICESS 2024) with Thaksin University on 6 August 2024. The conference featured participation from five FSSH students representing the English with Education and Early Childhood Education programs. Two of these students attended the conference in person in Thailand.
10 June to 8 July 2024 Under the Student Exchange Programme by the Faculty of Education at Thaksin University, six students from the FSSH of TAR UMT participated in the Citizenship Education Course held at Thaksin University. The course runs from 10 June 2024 to 8 July 2024. Upon completion, students will receive a transcript reflecting one subject and its corresponding grade point.

2023 |
4 November 2023 TAR UMT co-organized the 8th International Conference in Education and Social Science (ICESS-2023) with Thaksin University on 4 November 2023 to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, disseminate research findings, enhance networking opportunities, address global issues, promote best practices, and provide a platform for emerging scholars in the fields of education and social science.
From 12 June to 25 June 2023 TAR UMT co-organized the Student Exchange Programme with Thaksin University between 12 June and 25 June 2023. This Student Exchange Programme is to narrow the gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure by giving students first-hand exposure to identify the inputs and outputs from a different perspective and experiencing the education culture of Thailand. Besides, it is to strengthen the academic and professional collaboration between Thaksin University and TAR UMT. 7 March 2023 The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and Thaksin University was signed on 7 March 2023. The Memorandum of Understanding enables both Universities to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in both countries.

From 1 August 2022 to 2 August 2022 TAR UMT visited TSU between 1 August 2022 (Songkla Campus) and 2 August 2022 (Phatthalung Campus) to explore potential collaboration on student exchange, staff exchange, research/ scholarly activities, academic programme and etc.
