A delegation from HIMET visited TAR UMT Sabah Branch on 17 December 2025. An MoU had previously been signed between the two institutions.

During the visit, the delegates toured the campus, explored the teaching facilities and amenities, and discussed plans for a future international mobility programme. The visit strengthened the partnership and provided a platform to explore further academic collaboration between both institutions.

Senior officials from HIMET visited TAR UMT on 5 July 2024 to explore potential collaboration opportunities.

During the visitation, TAR UMT and HIMET signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Both institutions were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.
