On 8 July 2025, senior officials from STU visited TAR UMT as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding for Education Cooperation signed on 30 October 2023. The visit strengthened the collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as sharing academic knowledge and best practices, fostering staff and student engagements, and building long-term partnerships.

The Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Education between TAR UMT and STU was signed on 30 October 2023 to enable both institutions to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in Malaysia and China.
