TAR UMT organised a one-week study tour for international students from Minnan University of Science and Technology and SLU, including cultural and language workshops, participation in the FAFB International Researcher and Student Conference (IRSC), and sightseeing activities, from 11 August 2025 to 17 August 2025.

Senior officials from SLU visited TAR UMT on 10 June 2025 to explore potential collaboration opportunities, with discussions focusing on academic exchange and student mobility.

The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and SLU has been renewed on 28 April 2022.  The Memorandum of Understanding enables both Universities to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in Malaysia and China.

From 23 October 2019 to 26 October 2019

The inaugural TAR UMT International Student Conference 2019 ('ISC 2019')” was organised by the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business, in partnership with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ('ACCA'), Coventry University, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and Zhejiang Financial College. ISC 2019 was held on 25 and 26 October 2019 at the TAR UMT, Kuala Lumpur Main Campus with the theme "Building Bridges, Creating Possibilities".

1 April 2019

The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and SLU was signed on 1 April 2019 at TAR UMT. The Memorandum of Understanding enables both Universities to share common and fundamental objectives of promoting and developing higher education opportunities in Malaysia and China.

TAR UMT visited SLU in December 2018 to promote international understanding, scholarly and collaboration, cultural interaction and friendship between the two universities.
