From 19 September to 20 September 2025

A staff member from TAR UMT was invited as a Keynote Speaker at the International Conference on Social Sustainability, organised by the Faculty of Planning & Architecture, Poornima University, Jaipur, in collaboration with the Council of Architecture Training & Research Centre (Bhopal), held from 19 September to 20 September 2025.

The keynote, delivered on 20 September 2025, focused on “Conservation of the Former Istana Negara: Adaptive Reuse Project as a Royal Museum.” It highlighted key strategies and challenges in heritage conservation and adaptive reuse, showcasing Malaysia’s approach to preserving cultural identity through sustainable architectural practices.

 

24 February 2025 to 28 March 2025

A collaborative effort between PU and TAR UMT led to a series of engaging guest lectures, enriching the academic experience with diverse perspectives. Staff members from PU delivered insightful lectures on topics such as:

  • “Nationalism: Mahatma Gandhi and his Peaceful Approach” on 24 February 2025
  • “Multiculturalism in Malaysia and India: Contesting Models in Comparative Analysis” on 18 March 2025
  • “Reassessing Literary Texts Through the Lens of the Grotesque” on 28 March 2025

Additionally, lecturers from PU shared their expertise with TAR UMT on subjects like:

  • “Revisionist Writing and the Future of Mythology” on 25 February 2025
  • “The Invisible Monsters: Anxiety, Depression, and Suicide” on 25 February 2025
  • “Innovative Pedagogical Practices for Diverse and Inclusive Classrooms: Strategies and Implications” on 4 March 2025

From 1 March to 9 March 2025

As part of the staff exchange programme, two lecturers from TAR UMT visited PU from 2 to 9 March 2025, while two lecturers from PU visited TAR UMT from 1 to 8 March 2025. Throughout the exchange, the lecturers conducted classes, delivered academic talks, and participated in meetings. The programme served to strengthen institutional ties and promote meaningful academic collaboration and knowledge exchange between both institutions.

 

24 February 2025 and 25 February 2025

TAR UMT and PU jointly conducted a series of guest lectures as part of their academic collaboration. On 24 February 2025, a lecturer from TAR UMT delivered a lecture on history titled "Nationalism: Mahatma Gandhi and His Peaceful Approach." The following day, on 25 February 2025, a lecturer from PU presented a lecture on literature titled "Revisionist Writing and the Future of Mythology."

 

2024

6 March 2024

Representatives from PU visited TAR UMT on 6 March 2024 to further explore potential collaboration opportunities.

During the visitation, TAR UMT and PU signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Both institutions were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.
