2024 |
4 March 2024 On 4 March 2024, TAR UMT Penang Branch hosted a dynamic cultural exchange program in collaboration with Chengdu University, invited 11 students and 3 lecturers from Chengdu University to engage in an enriching dialogue. With the objective of promoting Malaysian Chinese culture and fostering improved public relations and communication skills among students, the program facilitated insightful discussions and interactions between the two universities. Through this exchange, participants gained a deeper understanding of each other's cultures and traditions, contributing to greater cross-cultural appreciation and friendship between Malaysia and China. |

From 14 October 2019 to 18 October 2019 Two lecturers of TAR UMT were invited to give talks in the 5th International Week of Chengdu University, China from 14 October 2019 to 18 October 2019. Prof. Lim Tong Ming, Director, Centre for Business Incubation & Entrepreneurial Ventures, gave two talks entitled, “SYN1 is required for “Sentiment Analysis on Big Data for Digital Marketing Industry: Challenges and Future Works” and “Exploratory Investigation on the use of Machine Learning to Develop an Automobile Campaign, Car model and Campaign Period Predictive Model”. Meanwhile, Ms. Foo Lee Peng, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business (‘FAFB’) gave two talks namely, " International Trade in ASEAN " and “Belt Road Initiatives (BRI)”.

From 25 July 2018 to 31 July 2018 Ms. Ang Yaw Feng and fourteen (14) choir members from TAR UMT participated in the Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival on 25 July 2018 at the invitation of CDU.
22 April 2018 Mr. Chin Wan Kee, the Senior Lecturer from TAR UMT participated in the 2018 Chengdu International Sister Cities Sculptures Creation and Exhibition Program at the invitation of CDU.
From 31 March 2018 to 2 April 2018 Ms Ang Yaw Feng, senior lecturer from the Creative Arts Department of the Faculty of Social Science, Arts & Humanities (‘FSAH’), TAR UMT was invited to participate at the Tenor’s Arts Forum organised by China - ASEAN Art Collegeä¸å?½ä¸?ç??è?ºæ?¯å¦é?¢of Cheng Du University, from 31 March 2018 to 2 April 2018, providing full sponsorship for her participation. Ms Ang gave a talk entitled: “Malaysia Tenor: Past, Present and Future” during the forum. In the end, the forum concluded with an open master class with a small group of 9 female singers from Chengdu University Choir performing a mandarin song called: “æ??念” conducted by Ms Ang.
16 March 2018 CDU visited TAR UMT on 16 March 2018 to further explore on student exchange, staff exchange, collaboration on research/scholarly activities and etc.
15 January 2018 CDU visited TAR UMT on 15 January 2018 to promote international understanding, scholarly and collaboration, cultural interaction and friendship between the two universities.

17 November 2017 TAR UMT participated in the 2nd International Conference on Animation and establishment of China-ASEAN College of Arts on 17 November 2017 at the invitation of CDU. List of Attendees: -
From 16 October 2017 to 19 October 2017 Two lecturers of TAR UMT were invited to give scientific talks in the 3rd International Week of Chengdu University, China from 16 October 2017 to 19 October 2017. The International Week of Chengdu University is one of the events in October that offers approximately 65 seminars with various topics. The talks are given to equip students and lecturers to become global citizens empowered with international knowledge. Dr Tiang Choon-Lin, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (‘FOAS’), gave two talks entitled, “SYN1 is required for installation of chromosome architecture and DNA double-strand break repair in Arabidopsis meiosis” and “Studying the meiotic telomere bouquet in maize”. Meanwhile, Assoc Prof Dr Yip Mum Wai from the Faculty of Engineering (‘FOEN’) gave two talks namely, "Solving Complex Problem by Systematic Innovation Approach of TRIZ" and “Integrating TRIZ into the Curriculum: An Academic Prospective”.
18 October 2017 To promote comprehensive academic exchange and education collaboration between China and Malaysia, both CDU and MCIEC have decided to establish "Chengdu-Kuala Lumpur International Education Alliance" on the principle of mutual benefit and consultation, upon the terms and conditions in the Agreement. The Memorandum of Agreement for Establishment of Chengdu-Kuala Lumpur International Education Alliance was signed on 18 October 2017 at Chengdu University.
7 July 2017 CDU visited TAR UMT on 7 July 2017 to discuss on the Collaboration and Introduce the Malaysia-China International Education Consortium (MCIEC)
21 March 2017 CDU together with the Institutions of Sichuan Province visited TAR UMT on 21 March 2017 to enhance the friendship among the institutions.

22 December 2016 A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by TAR UMT and CDU on 22 December 2016 at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology to establish education collaboration based on the vast education resources of each institution.
