2025 |
From 11 December to 12 December 2025 TAR UMT co-organised the “Tourism and Hospitality International Conference” with Ciputra University, Surabaya, and Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, from 11 to 12 December 2025. Traditionally an annual event hosted by Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya, the conference was held at TAR UMT this year as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international collaboration. Serving as the main host, TAR UMT welcomed academics, researchers, and industry professionals to engage in discussions on current trends, innovations, and best practices in tourism and hospitality. The conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange, collaborative research initiatives, and the fostering of stronger global partnerships in higher education.
12 November 2025 The co-teaching online class between TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya on Human Resource Management was conducted on 12 November 2025, providing students from both institutions with shared learning opportunities and cross-cultural academic exposure while further strengthening collaboration between the two universities.
From 5 November to 6 November 2025 Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya invited TAR UMT to co-host their 12th International Conference in Entrepreneurship (12th ICOEN) with the theme “Thriving in Turbulence: How Entrepreneurs Navigate Disrupted Global Challenges” from 5 November to 6 November 2025. The conference brought together academics, industry practitioners, and students to discuss contemporary entrepreneurial challenges, strategies for navigating global disruptions, and opportunities for innovation. TAR UMT’s participation contributed to knowledge exchange, strengthened collaboration with Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya and enhanced cross-border engagement in the field of entrepreneurship.
From 2 November to 5 November 2025 An architectural study trip to Surabaya, Indonesia, was successfully conducted from 2 to 5 November 2025 for 109 TAR UMT students, accompanied by 5 lecturers. During the trip, students visited Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya and participated in cultural exchange activities and academic workshops. The programme allowed students to engage with their peers in Indonesia, gain insights into different architectural practices, and experience local culture firsthand, promoting international collaboration and cross-cultural learning. The visit to Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya also fulfilled one of the three key initiatives outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement / Implementation Agreement signed between TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya on 2 December 2024, reinforcing the commitment of both institutions to fostering global exposure and practical learning opportunities for students.
Between 11 August and 27 September 2025 From 11 to 16 August and 21 to 27 September 2025, TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya engaged in reciprocal staff exchange activities to strengthen academic collaboration and foster cross-institutional learning. From 11 to 16 August, a staff member from Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya delivered lessons to TAR UMT students on Emotional Intelligence, Leadership & Navigation, Communication in Human Capital Management, Understanding Self-Motivation through Personality and Values, and Teams & Teamwork in Organizations. Subsequently, from 21 to 27 September, a staff member from TAR UMT conducted lessons at Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya covering The Entrepreneurial Perspective, Cross-Cultural Business, Change Management, Creativity and the Business Idea, and Generating and Exploiting New Opportunities. These exchanges provided valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, practical insights, and the strengthening of collaboration between the two institutions.
5 May 2025 TAR UMT collaborated with Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya, in a joint teaching session titled "How Technology Changes Our Life," held on 5 May 2025. The session provided valuable insights into the influence of technology on modern life and promoted cross-border academic engagement.
From 13 April to 20 April 2025 As part of the staff exchange programme, a staff member from Universitas Ciputra Surabaya was invited to TAR UMT, where he conducted two classes—Food Preparation 1 and Food Preparation 2—and hosted a culinary workshop from 13 to 20 April 2025.
From 17 March to 18 March 2025 Academic staff from TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra collaborated to deliver joint online classes for Universitas Ciputra students from 17 to 18 March 2025. The sessions combined expertise from both institutions, providing students with an engaging learning experience and fostering academic exchange and international collaboration.

12 November, 16 November 2024, 5 December 2024 and 10 December 2024 As part of the staff exchange program, a guest lecturer from TAR UMT was invited to conduct online sessions with students at Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya, on 12 November 2024, 16 November 2024, 5 December 2024, and 10 December 2024.
From 29 September to 5 October 2024 Under the Staff Exchange programme, staff from TAR UMT was invited to be the guest lecturer to deliver teaching to students at Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya between 29 September and 5 October 2024.
From 14 July to 20 July 202 Under the Staff Exchange programme, staff from Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya was invited to be the guest lecturer to deliver teaching to students at TAR UMT between 14 July and 20 July 2024.
From 19 March to 7 May 2024 As part of the staff exchange program, a guest lecturer from Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya, was invited to engage with TAR UMT students through Zoom between 19 March 2024 and 7 May 2024.
From 6 June 2024 to 9 June 2024 At Fashionology 2024, a prestigious fashion show held at Ciputra World Hotel in Surabaya, Indonesia from 6 June 2024 to 9 June 2024, a lecturer and two fashion design students from FCCI presented their final project, showcasing their innovative designs and creative prowess. This collaboration between FCCI and Ciputra University not only provided a platform for them to showcase their creativity but also fostered a valuable exchange of ideas and techniques between the two institutions.
In between 5 March 2024 to 2 April 2024 These collaborative sessions offered students an interactive learning experience, merging the expertise of TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya, to enrich their understanding of various topics and foster a sense of shared knowledge between the two institutions.

2023 |
28 November 2023 The Hotel and Tourism Business Program team from Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya recently visited TAR UMT for an International Field Trip Program. This initiative promoted a rich exchange of ideas and insights in the realm of hotel and tourism, fostering global perspectives and building valuable cross-cultural connections among students and faculty from both institutions.
6 November 2023 Universitas Ciputra visited TAR UMT on 6 November 2023 to discuss on student exchange, staff exchange, collaboration on research/ scholarly activities, academic programme collaboration and etc.
11 October 2023 The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra was signed on 11 October 2023. Both institutions were agreed to develop, promote and cooperate with one another in various activities such as: sharing of academic knowledge and best practices; staff and student engagements; and fostering partnerships and long term relationships with one another.
From 9 October to 13 October 2023 Under the Staff Exchange programme, staff from TAR UMT was invited to be the guest lecturer to deliver teaching to students at Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya.
From 30 July to 5 August, 27 August to 1 September 2023 Under the Staff Exchange programme, staff from Universitas Ciputra were invited to be the guest lecturers to deliver teaching to students at TAR UMT.
From 21 to 27 June 2023 In between 21 and 27 June 2023, students from the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business of TAR UMT joined the summer programme entitled "Sociopreneurship in the Local Wisdom Culture of Peniwen Village" organised by Universitas Ciputra to experience a different culture and promote friendship between the two universities. 25 May 2023 TAR UMT had collaborated with Universitas Ciputra to deliver a webinar entitled “IASB Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting” for the students of Universitas Ciputra and TAR UMT on 25 May 2023. From 21 to 22 April 2023 TAR UMT had collaborated with Universitas Ciputra on the Research Project entitled “Earth 101” held between 21 and 22 April 2023. This research project was collaborated between five (5) universities including Birmingham City University, Dayeh University, Universitas Ciputra, Multimedia University and TAR UMT.

From 15 November to 16 November 2022 Students from the Hospitality and Tourism Management of Universitas Ciputra, Surabaya visited TAR UMT to promote international understanding, scholarly and collaboration, cultural interaction and friendship between the two universities. From 18 September 2022 to 19 September 2022 A group of TAR UMT Year 3 students visited UC in between 18 September 2022 and 19 September 2022 to experience new cultures and expand their worldview.
From 5 June 2022 until 11 June 2022 Two lecturers from TAR UMT visited UC in between 5 June 2022 and 11 June 2022 as part of the staff exchange collaboration to exchange teaching culture, teaching styles, research and also to explore possible students exchange in the future. This program also provides some ideas on how TAR UMT can have cross certification programmes in the future.
24 May 2022 Staff Exchange Implementation Agreement between TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra Surabaya was signed on 24 May 2022. This Agreement was signed to define the specific collaborative arrangements governing the conduct of the exchange faculty Programme.
From 19 July 2022 to 24 July 2022 Under the Staff Exchange programme, staff from the Universitas Ciputra was invited to be the guest lecturer to deliver teaching to university students at TAR UMT.
From 14 July 2022 to 29 July 2022 TAR UMT co-organized the International Student Exchange Programme 2022 (Summer Programme 2022) with UC. This event has been conducted online and on-site activities between 14 July 2022 and 29 July 2022.
13 July 2022 A two-hours sharing session of FOET's OBE Measurement System and good practices for OBE implementation was conducted on 13 July 2022. This sharing session was intended to further discuss with Universitas Ciputra on the details of the OBE Measurement System.
30 May 2022 The Chairman of Board of Governors, member of the Board and Senior Officials of TAR UMT visited Universitas Ciputra on 30 May 2022. During the visitation, both Universities had gained an insight into future trends in education, research and innovation in Indonesia and how the universities collaborate with the industry and contribute to the wider community. Both Universities also had a sharing session on effective governance and long-term sustainability of universities.
18 April 2022 Staff from the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business of TAR UMT visited Universitas Ciputra on 18 April 2022 to promote international understanding, scholarly and collaboration, cultural interaction and friendship between the two universities.

20 April 2021 Memorandum of Agreement for Dual Bachelor Degree Award Collaborative Programme between TAR UMT and Universitas Ciputra Surabaya was signed on 20 April 2021. This Agreement was signed to define the specific collaborative arrangements governing the conduct of the Dual Bachelor Degree Award Collaborative Programme.

26 October 2020 In the view of the Covid-19 pandemic which prohibited overseas travelling, Dr Koo Hui Chin from TAR UMT invited to deliver a webinar, titled - “Maintaining a healthy diet during the Covid-19 Pandemic” for the students of Universitas Ciputra. This webinar held to allow knowledge exchange and impart a different learning experience.
10 September 2020 A Webinar, “How Malaysian Tourism Industry Survives the pandemic” (Speaker: Ms. Kavitha Thevi Ganasan) has been conducted on 10 September 2020. This Webinar was intended to provide information on the current affairs and situation in the Malaysian Tourism Industry during this Covid-19 pandemic and was attended by students from Ciputra Surabaya and TAR UMT.
