The Staff Exchange Agreement between TAR UMT and NWU was signed on 17 April 2026 through Research Entity for Physical Activity, Sport and Recreation (PHASREC) at the Potchefstroom campus. The agreement supported staff mobility, knowledge sharing, and collaboration in teaching and research.

The Memorandum of Understanding between TAR UMT and NWU was signed on 17 March 2026. The Memorandum of Understanding established with the Research Entity for Physical Activity, Sport and Recreation (PHASREC) at the Potchefstroom campus, aimed to promote academic collaboration through exchanges, joint research, and programme development.

Dr Chin Mui Yin was invited to representing TAR UMT for a Zoom Meeting on the topic of "TRADE world tour: Views from across the globe".

TRADE research entity of NWU in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg invited TAR UMT and others international speakers to discuss the current situation in their respective countries regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, the economy and the impact on higher education.
