TAR UMT was invited by SCUT to participate in the 5th China Mobile “Wutong Cup” Digital Intelligence Innovation Competition (National Finals Division), held in Guangzhou, China on 26 March 2026.

This prestigious international competition, hosted by China Mobile Hong Kong Limited, brought together top talents to explore innovative solutions in artificial intelligence and digital security. Demonstrating strong technical capability and innovation, TAR UMT students achieved an outstanding result, with Team 404 securing the 2nd Runner-Up position in the AI + Security Track.

The Chairman of Board of Governors, member of the Board and Senior Officials of TAR UMT visited SCUT on 30 May 2023 to explore potential collaboration in scientific research, joint-training/ joint activities for students, staff exchange and student exchange . During the visitation, both Universities had also gained an insight into future trends in education, research and innovation in China and how the universities collaborate with the industry and contribute to the wider community.
