Principles of Property Development is a fast-track conversion course that will allow you to gain the necessary framework of knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to pursue a successful career in real estate development in Malaysia and abroad. This course has several modules including property development law, land acquisition, valuation, property development process and market feasibility studies.

Dr Tham Kuen Wei

Dr Tham Kuen Wei had been in the real estate industry since 2011. He is a registered Valuer, Property Manager, Estate Agent, as well as a licensed auctioneer in the States of Perak, Melaka, Penang and Selangor. Dr Tham has a PhD in Real Estate Finance from the University of Malaya and he is the recipient of the Royal Education Award (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang) from the Rulers' Conference of Malaysia (Majlis Raja- Raja) by the Sultan of Perak personally in 2016. Dr Tham had served as an Adjunct Professor with UCSI University, and also Senior Lecturer with the TAR University of Management and Technology. His had published in Web of Science and SCOPUS indexed journals and he is also a recipient of the Khazanah Nasional PhD Research Scholarship & Grant in 2016 for the research in property finance. Dr Tham had done valuations, property foreclosure consultancy, auctioneering, research and market feasibility studies for a number of clients such as High Court of Malaya, District Land Offices, MBSB, Maybank, Public Bank, Standard Chartered, AmBank and CIMB. Previously worked for the Malaysian Judiciary Body (High Court of Malaya) and Savills Ltd, a UK based real estate consultancy firm. Also have experience in transactions and real estate dealings involving public listed companies of prime commercial properties, large industrial factories and oil palm estates. Dr Tham is also a Board Member of the Malaysian Council of Auctioneers, a member of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES) & also a APC Candidate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (UK). Dr Tham had been engaged by public listed companies and professional institutions to provide talks, consultancy services, auctions and research such as the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), Luminor Capital Singapore Ltd, Alliance Bank Berhad, Real Estate Housing Developers Association (REHDA), Genting Group Berhad & EcoWorld Berhad. His expertise is in Real Estate Law, Processes, Development, Valuation for IPOs, Litigation Valuations, Valuations for Compulsory Acquisitions, Intellectual Property Valuations, Business Valuations, Corporate Real Estate Valuations, Foreclosures, Auctions, Property Finance, Property Transactions, Property Management and Market Feasibility Studies.

Dr Cheng Chin Tiong

Dr Cheng Chin Tiong obtained Bachelor of Science Property Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Subsequently, he received Ph.D.Real Estate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in year 2018 and teaching real estate courses such as development economics, land economics and etc. Dr Cheng had also published several international research papers for property market analysis and property investment. Currently, Dr. Cheng is an Associate Dean and a Senior Lecturer in Faculty of Built Environment, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology.
