Collaborations with Science, Technology and Engineering related companies:
Department of Physical Science, Faculty of Applied Sciences (FOAS), TAR UC will be collaborating with IKM and agrees to pool efforts together to assist in the continuing education and professional development of lKM members; to assist in developing the content of chemistry and chemistry-related courses and programmes of TARUC, to promote the development of chemistry profession among its academic staff and students; to collaborate on research and innovation in chemistry and chemistry-related areas; to undertake joint programmes in promoting the advancement of chemistry in Malaysia; and as well as in any other areas of co-operation as agreed to by both parties from time to time.
TARC (now known as TARUC) signs MoU with National Instruments, gaining RM 1.8 Million Software Sponsorship
Tunku Abdul Rahman College (now known as TARUC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Instruments(NI), garnering RM 1, 800, 000.00 worth of sponsorship in NI's Labview software. The MoU signing ceremony took place in the TARUC KL Main Campus on 15 April, 2011.
YB Dato' Dr Hou Kok Chung, who witnessed the signing ceremony said, "The partnership with TAR College, a known-established public Higher Education Institution and NI, a world leader in virtual instrumentation software and automated test equipment, will help to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical relevant skills needed by the industry. This link with the industry can strengthen the curriculum and enhance the employability and marketability of TARC (now known as TARUC) graduates".
This partnership will also work towards building platforms for TARUC students and staff, specifically from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and the experts of NI to mutually share the latest technologies and experiences in virtual instrumentation applications for test, control and design areas through collaborations in research & development, workshops, seminars, training sessions and projects.
Mr Chandran Nair, NI ASEAN Managing Director expressed his hope to see new ideas emerge from the involvement of the students of TARC (now known as TARUC) in this collaboration.
Department of Bioscience, FOAS had signed MoA with Nestlin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd since 2017. There are three projects involved in this collaboration:
1. Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Bird Nest (Feb 2017 - April 2017)
2. Optimization of Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Bird Nest (July 2019 - Jan 2020)
3. Production of Bioactive Sialylated Glycopeptides from Bird Nest (Oct 2021 - on-going)
The Department of Sport Science, FOAS has signed MoA with Enercan Sdn. Bhd. on 2019, gaining RM26,200 sponsorship. Enercan Sdn. Bhd. is a health food product manufacturing and retailing company. An Industrial research project collaboration involves to evaluate the effectiveness of Microceps ingestion in endurance runners and sedentary people.
Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC), Faculty of Applied Sciences (FOAS) signed a MoA with Big K Farmer's Place, Kerling, Selangor on 27th Feb 2019 for "Production of Quality Vermicompost and Vermicompost Tea" consultancy project. The Managing Director, Mr.Lew Chee Keong from Big K Farmer's Place would like to use organic fertilizer for his agriculture crops in the farm. FOAS lecturer, Dr.Hoe Yin Chen will set up pre-composting method, earthworm breeding and vermicompost tea system. Training for earthworm breeding, vermicompost production, earthworm tea production and application of vermicompost and vermicompost tea in agriculture crops are also provided. Also, the research team from FOAS will analyse the quality of vermicompost and vermicompost tea produce by the farmer.
