Bachelor of Estate Management (Honours)

This programme equips students for careers in property valuation, property management, property development, investment and finance. The programme focuses in core competencies required on property valuation in wide ranges of property and purposes inclusive of traditional, statutory, investment, plant and machinery, special properties and development appraisal. Students will be trained in property and estate management areas such as development, land purchase, facilities management, support service, managing and maintaining residential, commercial and industrial property. This programme also emphasis on financial, development and investment practices such as investment analysis, viability study, market study, purchase and portfolio management of investment property and the financing of real estate projects.

Career Prospects:
Upon completion of the programme, graduates can be employed as executive and/or managerial levels personnel in Property Management, Valuation and Estate Agency practices, which include, but not limited to valuation, feasibility study, property market research, development, marketing and management.

The Bachelor of Estate Management (Honours) programme has the following four Programme Educational Objectives, to be achieved 3 to 5 years upon completion of the programme:

  1. To produce graduates who are well grounded with essential technical and managerial knowledge in real estate management practices. (Knowledge).

Upon completion of the programme, the graduates should be able to:

  1. Possess an in-depth knowledge and skills pertaining to real estate management so as to perform competently in the property management profession. (Knowledge)
  2. Apply an understanding of the mechanisms which determine property market value and demonstrate competency in collecting, identifying, evaluating and synthesizing the property value data and information. (Practical skills)
  3. Analyse the property market data and information in resolving issues related to property value and investment. (Thinking and scientific skills)
  4. Communicate effectively in written, pictorial and verbal forms, with and without the use of ICT tools, in their work and effectively participate in interactive team work. (Communication skills)
