Students Gain Insight into Creative Industry

Mr Clarence Koh sharing his knowledge with the audience.

Marketing students pursuing the Advertising and Promotion course in the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business (‘FAFB’) had a firsthand understanding of the workings of an advertising agency recently, when Mr Clarence Koh, the Chief Operating Officer of Naga DDB Tribal (winner of 2019’s prestigious Kancil Advertising Agency of the Year Award) gave a talk at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.

Mr Koh spent almost two hours taking the students through real-life case studies complete with video examples, including KFC, Watsons and Digi’s TV commercials. He also delved into key advertising strategies and techniques that made the difference for these brands. Through these examples, Mr Koh emphasised the importance of brand building activities for business sustainability.

Mr Koh also spent some time discussing internship opportunities in his organisation and their job requirements. The timing was perfect as these third year students are in the process of applying for internships for the next semester, and a talk like this helped them to make informed decisions.
