TAR UC and the Construction Industry Development Board (‘CIDB’) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) on 27 March 2018 in conjunction with International Construction Week that will allow TAR UC to implement the usage of the CIDB Malaysian Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (‘MyCESMM’) and the CIDB Construction Law Report (‘CCLR’) in TAR UC’s Quantity Surveying programmes at Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree levels, offered by the Faculty of Built Environment (‘FOBE’).
Established under the Construction Industry Development Board Act 1994 (Act 520) as a regulatory body, CIDB regulates, develops and facilitates the construction industry in Malaysia towards achieving global competitiveness.
The collaboration is a resounding emphasis on TAR UC’s commitment to providing industry-relevant and professionally driven education. The signing of the MoU marks TAR UC as one of only nine institutions of higher learning that collaborate with CIDB.
Representing TAR UC during the signing ceremony was Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC and Sr Ooi Lay Yong, Dean of FOBE. The ceremony was graced by Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, the Minister of Works, Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Roslan Mat Taha, Director General of Malaysian Public Works Department, Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Mohd Ali, Chairman of CIDB Malaysia, Dato’ Abdul Razak bin Jaafar, Deputy Secretary General (Policy & Development), Ministry of Works and Dato’ Ir Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid, CEO of CIDB Malaysia.
