Her kind words spurred me on to work harder and to improve on my weaknesses in order to excel in the June exams," said Chen Wah.

"I studied the subject as part of my final year curriculum at TAR UC. The study duration spanned over 5 months. Although I was preparing for 2 ACCA papers, I allocated significantly more time to AFM. I spent a lot of time practising past year questions under timed condition to improve my time management," he continued.

Chen Wah was quick to highlight that the thoughtful learning support at TAR UC had contributed very much to his success. "Throughout my 4 years with TAR UC, the institution has provided me with a very conducive learning environment. The many tutors and lecturers I have encountered throughout my studies have been very dedicated in helping students and have generously shared their knowledge with us. Dr Wong Pik Har in particular is extremely committed to helping us ace our examinations, as she even went as far as to conduct additional classes with us every Saturday morning, which I feel has really helped many of us excel in the ACCA examinations," he enthused.

This cheerful, young lad who hails from SMK Seksyen 3 Bandar Kinrara said that he acquired many soft skills apart from the technical knowledge throughout his studies at TAR UC. "Firstly, English for Communication and Professional Skills for Managers enhanced my presentation skills, both in formal and informal situations. Secondly, the Advanced Management Spreadsheets helped me improve my technical skills in using Microsoft Excel, which greatly improved my work efficiency," he said.

Chen Wah shared some advice on how to perform well in ACCA examination. "At the strategic professional level of the ACCA exam, and especially the AFM paper, it is imperative to be technically well-versed. Hence, rote learning should be avoided and that clear, in-depth understanding is the key to success. Never rush the learning process, and if necessary, take a little more time to truly understand the complex technicalities of the syllabus," he said.

He spoke about his current endeavour. "I plan to embark on a career in the professional services industry, specifically in taxation. When my internship with Deloitte Malaysia ended in May 2020, I signed an offer to commence employment with them upon graduation. Hence, I have started work on 2 August 2021 in the tax and legal department at Deloitte Malaysia," he concluded.
