TAR UC welcomed its new students for the May 2019 semester, beginning with the students from the Centre for Pre-University Studies (‘CPUS’) who attended their mass call on 13 May 2019 at the Main Hall.

Over 550 A-Level and Foundation students were brimming with excitement as they were addressed by Assoc Prof Dr Chook Ka Joo, Vice President of TAR UC.

“On behalf of TAR UC, I welcome you all to our vibrant community. I hope you will make full use of your time here to learn and explore the knowledge we have to offer, but most importantly make meaningful connections with your fellow students.

“It is during this time students are likely to find lifelong friendships, form foundations and shape their future values, and I hope you will do the same,” he said in his speech.

Ms Kow Wei Shan, President of the Student Representative Council (‘SRC’) and currently a Bachelor of Finance and Investment (Hons) student, was also present to address the freshmen and give them some advice as a student.

“At first you may find the campus environment daunting, but eventually you will appreciate the life, greenery and unique experience it offers.

“Be yourself, make friends, and find your passion. Through that you will learn and find success in whatever you choose to do,” she said.

Apart from the mass call, new students were also given a crash course on what the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus had to offer via introductions to campus life, clubs, societies, campus tour and ice-breaking activities organised by the SRC and Department of Student Affairs (‘DSA’).
