Scores of students and guests made a beeline for the Blossom Art Festival Malaysia (‘BAFM’) Photographic Competition 2017 which was launched by Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, Chairman of the Blossom Arts Festival Malaysia 2017 on 8 June 2017 at the Auditorium in TAR UC Kuala Lumpur Main Campus.

Over 200 TAR UC students from the Faculty of Social Science, Arts and Humanities’ (‘FSAH’) Creative Arts and Mass Communication disciplines attended the launching ceremony, officiated by Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun who announced that this year’s BAFM Photographic Competition 2017 theme would be “Love for My Home, My Town, My Country”. In her speech, she expressed her gratitude towards TAR UC, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Photographic Society and Canon who had sponsored and coordinated this successful event.

An array of fun-filled activities were lined up for the participants to enjoy and they also would stand a chance to win interesting souvenirs. There was also a photography workshop organised by Canon where students were given tips on how to handle a DSLR camera to capture high quality photographs.

The BAFM is a cultural initiative by the Malaysian Chinese Association (‘MCA’) to promote diversity in the art and culture of Malaysian Chinese.  It creates a platform for local talents to exhibit their works and creations as well as to instil art appreciation among general public.
