A clever wordplay that combines TARCians and ‘fantastic’, the FUNTARCSTIC Carnival & Fundraising Event organised by Year 2 Diploma in Public Relations students ran from 18 – 20 December 2019. Funds raised from the event were channelled to the TAR UC Student Loan Fund.

“The objective of this event couldn’t be any more meaningful. I’m very thankful for the students for all your efforts in raising funds since it will benefit future TAR UC students,” said Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC, during his opening speech at the official launch of FUNTARCSTIC. “This event is a good example of what we mean by “Beyond Education” – TAR UC’s new tagline! Well done!”

“This carnival is made even more meaningful as we are doing it for a good cause while spreading positivity within the TARCian community. The event name itself encapsulates TARCians sticking together for something fantastic,” said Jessmyn Yong, Organising Chairperson of FUNTARCSTIC.

“It was an awesome learning opportunity for all of us and we gained priceless experience from our preparations for the event. Every little contribution matters because it all goes towards a good cause, thank you for supporting!” she added.

Prior to the carnival, FUNTARCSTIC also held pre-event fundraising activities such as food and beverage sales as well as a carwash campaign. The entire event succeeded in raising more than RM20,000 throughout the semester.
