TAR UC and the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (‘MAICSA’) formalised a collaboration to conduct the TAR UC – MAICSA Collaborative Master of Corporate Governance/ Grad ICSA programme in a ceremony held on 4 April 2018.

The newly introduced Master of Corporate Governance (‘MCG’) programme offered by the Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business (‘FAFB’) aims to equip graduates with solid corporate governance knowledge and skills in integrating the efforts of various stakeholders to promote corporate performance. With this collaboration in place, candidates will be awarded dual qualification upon graduation – a Master’s degree from TAR UC and Graduate status by MAICSA, which is an internationally recognised professional qualification.

“TAR UC has a long-standing association with MAICSA since the inception of the School of Business Studies in 1971. For the past 47 years, our working relationship with MAICSA has been dynamic and fruitful,” said Datuk Dr Tan Chik Heok, President of TAR UC in his welcoming speech. “Today, we witness another remarkable milestone in a long term collaboration between TAR UC and MAICSA.”

In his speech, Dato’ Heng Ji Keng, President of MAICSA, praised TAR UC for its efforts  in providing  students with the means and avenue to enhance their skills and knowledge as well as increase their career prospects.

“I believe that with this smart partnership, TAR UC graduates will be proud and happy to receive two qualifications at the same time,” he said. “The employability of TAR UC graduates will be greatly enhanced as they will be well-equipped with the business management knowledge and a diverse set of skills that are uniquely crafted to contribute to the development of the corporate sector. I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate TAR UC for their foresight and remarkable initiatives in pursuing this collaboration with MAICSA.”

The MCG programme will welcome its inaugural batch of students during TAR UC’s May 2018 intake which will commence on 28 May 2018 at its Kuala Lumpur Main Campus. Students who register for this programme can opt for full-time study for a duration of 1.5 years to a maximum of 3 years or part-time study for a duration of 3 – 6 years.
