More IR 4.0 Projects to Come for TAR UC

In line with its quest to synergise the latest developments in technology to further enhance education and learning, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (‘TAR UC’) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) with Advantech Co. Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Hua Yong Engineering Sdn Bhd on 25 July 2019, paving the way for future collaborations on projects related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (‘IR4.0’). 

Through this collaboration, TAR UC will be working together with industry professionals to build an Industry 4.0 manufacturing packaging line compliant with RAMI 4.0, which is a unified model which combines IT components in a layered life cycle model, in TAR UC.

Spearheaded by TAR UC’s Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research (‘CPSR’), the new IR4.0 project will also involve faculty members from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (‘FOCS’) and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (‘FOET’).

“I am pleased that TAR UC will be able work alongside industry professionals in IR4.0 related projects,” said Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC during the signing of MoU ceremony. “Collaborations such as these open more doors for our educators and students in terms of industrial experience.
