Changing People's Lives for the Better

TAR UC has always strived to inculcate the spirit of helping the less unfortunate, and this is even more pronounced during the pandemic era where many are struggling to make ends meet.

Bringing vision to action, approximately 1,700 Diploma students organised a huge online fundraising project as part of the Civic Consciousness and Volunteerism programme that ran from 14 February - 27 March 2022, with the hope that their collection would help ease the burden of those in need.

Despite an initial target of hitting RM100,000, their combined efforts successfully broke through their goal to raise a total of RM131,473.21, and the fund was channeled on equal basis to 12 beneficiaries, namely:

  1. Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled
  2. Children’s Training Centre
  3. Dual Blessing
  4. Persatuan Kebajikan dan Sosial Kim Loo Ting, Kuala Lumpur
  5. Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Kajang, Selangor
  6. Pertubuhan Kebajikan Mental Selangor
  7. Pertubuhan Membantu Pesakit Parah Miskin Malaysia
  8. Rumah Kebajikan Anbu Illam
  9. SEMOA (Orang Asli)
  10. Sri Satya Sai Dialysis & Educare Project
  11. Yayasan Chow Kit
  12. Civic Consciousness & Volunteerism Student Loan Fund

During the online donation presentation ceremony held on 25 April 2022, Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC, lauded the students for playing their parts for the good of the community.

"Seeing the results of our students' efforts to help other people is a very touching moment. Their determination and caring nature will definitely make a big impact in the lives of the people they help and change the community; one act of kindness at a time.

"I always believe that giving is the greatest act of grace, and I hope this project will spur more students to come forward and help those in need while guiding future generations to do the same," said Prof Ir Dr Lee in his speech.

Prof Ir Dr Lee (second row, leftmost), lauded the students for demonstrating the benevolent and caring nature that TAR UC has been instilling in them via the online charity fundraising project.
