On 16 November 2021, TAR UC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (‘MoU’) with the Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) Malaysia Branch (‘IFEM’) as part of TAR UC’s efforts to intensify professional and industry related collaborations.

The Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) is a not-for-profit professional body licensed by the Engineering Council (UK), that upholds professional standards within all public and private fire sectors by offering assessment of knowledge, experience and development and engaging with major stakeholders to offer international conferences, identify, and promote good practices and enhance technical networks worldwide.

The MoU was signed by the Presidents of both Institutions, Prof. Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, on behalf of TAR UC and Dato' Mohammad Hamdan Bin Hj. Wahid (who is also the Director-General of Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia), on behalf of IFEMand witnessed by senior staff and officials from both TAR UC’s Faculty of Built Environment (‘FOBE’) and IFEM respectively.

This collaborative partnership paves way for mutually beneficial activities between both parties such as sharing of academic knowledge and best industry practices, academic programme collaboration, staff and student training, and other relevant collaborative activities that will improve the quality and relevancy of TAR UC’s built environment programmes.
