A forum titled “Forum Budget Talk 2020: Impact of Budget 2020 on the Malaysian Economy & Businesses" was organised by the Federation of TARC Alumni Associations, Malaysia (‘FTARC AA M’) on 16 October 2019, following the rollout of the National Budget 2020 the week prior.

The forum attended by TAR UC staff, students and alumni, was moderated by YBhg Datuk Ng Seing Liong, a developer who is also an auditor, liquidator and company secretary. During the forum, each panellist shared with the audience their professional insights on the impact Budget 2020 will bring to their respective fields of expertise.

The panel of speakers consisted of Mr Adrian Yeo, President of FTARC AA M, who shared on “Malaysian Budget 2020 & Tax System”, YBhg Tan Sri Dato Sri Lau Ban Tin, a School of Business Studies (‘SBS’) alumnus and a boutique developer with a PhD in economics, who spoke on “Impact of Budget 2020 on Malaysia Economy” and Mr Poh Ying Loo, Executive Director of Aeon Co (M) Bhd, whose presentation was titled “Impact of Budget 2020 on Malaysia Businesses”. YBhg Datuk Ng Seing Liong also gave his opinion on how the budget would affect the real estate and property market.

Throughout the forum, participants were encouraged to ask questions and interact with the panellists, which led to an informative session for all the participants.
