Musical Showcase Honours TAR UC's Past and Future

An accapella singing show, one of the many performances that were showcased during “sTARgazing: Honouring our Past, Inspiring the Future”.

Almost 700 people, consisting of students, alumni, family members and the general public enjoyed the show.

On 29 December 2018, a group of TAR UC students celebrated the institution’s upcoming 50th anniversary milestone in a melodic manner, namely through a nostalgia-inspired musical showcase called "sTARgazing: Honouring our Past, Inspiring the Future”.

The students, who are undertaking the Diploma in Mass Communication (Public Relations) course, presented a musical performance comprising various performances that highlighted the nostalgic past of the then TAR College, its journey into the TAR UC we know today and the future in the coming years.

Attended by almost 700 people including students, alumni, family members and the general public, the show touched the hearts of the audience through its relatable story and compelling performance, not to mention that it reminded alumni of their respective experiences as students then.

“I am very happy that I studied in TAR UC, because I got the opportunity to join Talentime Night and from there showing and testing my talents. Then people started to know what I could do. I am always thrilled to be invited back here to perform because that is how much I love TAR UC,” said Geraldine Gan, a local celebrity and a TAR UC alumna .

The “sTARgazing: Honouring our Past, Inspiring the Future” was also a symbolic performance as it came at a time when TAR UC is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a grand HomeComing celebration scheduled on 16 – 17 March 2019.
