Being a long-standing strategic partner of TAR UC, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (‘ACCA’) organised a grand celebration at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus entitled ‘TAR UC – ACCA: Celebrating a Tradition of Excellence’ in conjunction with TAR UC 50th Anniversary on 16 March 2019 to commemorate their close partnership.
The auditorium exuded a warm atmosphere as countless accountants – ranging from those who have decades of experience to the fresh graduates who are ready to follow in their fellow alumni’s footsteps into the accounting world, packed the venue to celebrate TAR UC and ACCA’s fruitful 48-year-old strategic partnership which dated back to 1971.
“I am delighted to be part of this event that marks the strategic partnership between ACCA and TAR UC, which is now one of TAR UC’s pride and joy as the achievements by the students are second to none,” said Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC, in his speech.
“We thank ACCA for their unwavering support all these years, and we certainly look forward to continuing this great partnership forever”, Prof Ir Dr Lee added.
TAR UC is currently an ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner and the only institution in the world to run the Internally Assessed ACCA Fundamentals Programme. Since 1971, TAR UC has witnessed 96 international and national prizes won by 46 TAR UC students in ACCA professional examinations.
“Warmest congratulations to TAR UC for reaching their 50th anniversary. We are extremely proud to stand with you and celebrate this immense contribution made to Malaysian accountancy profession where TAR UC has consistently upheld the high standard of quality in delivering ACCA modules all these years.
“Together with TAR UC’s passionate team, ACCA is committed to continue working closely to produce professional accountants that Malaysia and the world needs,” said Dato’ Merina Abu Tahir, President of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee (‘MAC’), who was present at the event.
During the event, awards were presented by ACCA to 30 TAR UC lecturers who had contributed to the development and success of the TAR UC-ACCA programme. In addition, certificates were awarded to 22 TAR UC-ACCA student prize winners and 11 TAR UC lecturers who were instrumental in guiding students to achieve excellent results in the ACCA professional examinations.
