In addition, the graduation ceremony was significant in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the academic collaboration between TAR UC and Campbell University

In his welcome address at the graduation ceremony, Dato’ Sri Liow expressed his appreciation to Campbell University for the doctorate degree. “As this is my first visit to Campbell University campus here since I was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of TAR UC in 2013, it is a very significant milestone for me personally to have set foot in this institution which has a very longstanding partnership with TAR UC. I am also deeply honoured to be conferred the Doctor of Public Health today in this graduation and it reminds me of my former responsibility as the Minister of Health in Malaysia from 2008 till 2013 which I hold dear until today,” he highlighted.

Prof Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei in his speech shared how TAR UC – Campbell University partnership has benefitted TAR UC students over the years. “As we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our collaboration, let’s take a step back and revisit the humble beginning of our collaboration 40 years ago where only 15 students of the then TAR College enrolled for the Bachelor of Science degree of Campbell University. Nevertheless, more and more students took up the Bachelor of Science programme along the way and fast forward to 2019, more than 14,000 TAR UC students have graduated with Campbell University Bachelor of Science degree and many of them are leading successful lives not only in Malaysia but across the globe. For this, I would like to express my appreciation to the past and present management of Campbell University for their continuous commitment and support in strengthening the strategic TAR UC – Campbell University collaboration,” he said.
