With a lot of creativity in posing for the camera  enhanced with good looks, Bryan Ho Kiu Shien who is a Foundation in Arts student at TAR UC took the Top Male Model title in the reality television show ‘I Wanna Be A Model’ produced by 8TV. Bryan was announced as the top male model at the final episode of the reality tv show which took place on 24 July 2016, winning himself a 3 year modelling contract, RM10,000 in cash, gym sponsorship, cosmetic sponsorship and outfit sponsorship.

A total of 16 participants took part in the reality television show which is the Malaysian version of ‘Make Me A Supermodel’, a famous reality television series from the United Kingdom.  The entire show had 13 episodes altogether where at the end of every episode, one participant would be eliminated from the show.

Bryan reciprocated with delight when he was asked about his experience in participating in the reality television show. “I am thankful to my friend who constantly encouraged me to participate in this television show. The challenges that I had to go through were tough on me especially mentally and physically. I found it extremely difficult when I had to do shooting with exotic animals such as snakes, spiders and lizards. And having to endure a lot of training from posing for photos and videos to catwalk was very tiring but all these made me realise that I have a firm interest in modelling,” said the cheerful model.

To many students, events such as TAR UC’s Orientation Odyssey Night could just be a night to remember for entertainment purpose. However, for Bryan, having participated in TAR UC’s Orientation Odyssey Night in 2015 gave him valuable experiences which proved useful for him during his participation in the show as he said:  “The experience I gained as a participant in TAR UC’s Orientation Odyssey Night taught me what to expect in this reality television show especially on the challenges of posing for the camera and delivering an excellent catwalk on stage. Besides this, my experience in communicating with the photographers during TAR UC’s Orientation Odyssey proved to be very useful for me as I learnt how to communicate with different people in the television production crew in 8TV and more importantly to anticipate what types of poses the judges of the show were looking for”.
